Anglo-Catholicism has always had a strong attractive intellectual element to it, that is why thinkers such as G.K. Chesterton and C.S. Lewis have had a wide appeal for Christians of all types. It is my hope that the clergy and the laity in the Personal Ordinariates develop a well earned reputation for being intellectuals in the wider Catholic Church. This can only be achieved by dedicated study, both formal and informal. Where is a good place to start? Read some Chesterton, or of course C.S. Lewis’s The Screwtape Letters….
